Although a broken heart may seem like the worst feeling in the world, you need to realize that this pain will go away over time. When your heart is broken, you will feel alone, desperate, and like you are never going to get back on track. But if you are willing to take things one day at a time, you will realize over time that you can and will get back to normal.

Remember, there is nothing wrong with being heart broken. This is something that most people go through at least once in their life; you are not alone. That being said, you should feel free to give yourself some time to mourn. This is not to say that you should crawl into a hole and stay depressed for days on end, but you do need time to reflect on what happened and how you are going to move forward. If you need to take a day off from work, so be it. Just remember, you are going to eventually need to move on, but for now, taking things day by day is the way to go.

Although it may be difficult to believe, as each day goes by your broken heart will begin to heal. How long will this process take? Some people get over a broken heart within a couple of weeks, but for others the pain can last much longer. Simply put, you need to deal with each day as it comes instead of looking forward.

All in all, the first step in healing a broken heart is taking baby steps day in and day out.
